Course or Dive Cancellation/Refund Policy

Courses and booked dives can be rescheduled for free if requested 14 days or more prior to the course or activity. Course or trip bookings can only be re-scheduled once. If you wish to reschedule Courses and other activities within 7 days of the start date, if it is possible, there is a 25% rebooking fee (on the total cost of the activity). No refund or reschedule will be possible within 7 days of the course or activity. A new booking will be offered at full price minus the PADI certification and administration fees.

For all courses and dives, the PADI Dive Medical Statement Form must be completed at the latest, two weeks before the original first day of the course. No refund will be possible for a failed medical, or failure to see a doctor in time, within 2 weeks of the beginning of the course.

In the case of medical problem, a medical certificate is required to rebook the course or activity for the customer with the medical condition. Cancellation and refund will be offered if the medical conditions stop the students from diving.

If the online learning material or medical has not been completed at the start of the course, we will not be able to complete practical training, the course will have to be fully rebooked minus the PADI certification cost. The student or diver can not take part in any water activity under the effect of alcohol or drugs. Be aware to allow 24 hours between your last dive and a flight. We can reschedule the course if we do not have our minimum numbers (5 for a course).
For your safety, the instructor can cancel or change the destination if the weather puts the divers at risk.

Before applying for your academic training with PADI you should complete your dive medical. If you indicate a medical issue on the Medical Statement form you must complete a medical with a medical doctor.

It is the strong recommendation of Scubanautics Diving Academy that you get a dive medical from a dive doctor prior to starting your course. Dive medicals can detect issues or conditions that can cause serious injury or death while diving, such as ear, nose and throat problems or lung function disorder. (Australian Standard AS4005.1)

Your course deposit covers the cost of your eLearning material and our administrative time. Once online academics commences (from enrolment on the PADI system) PADI does not refund us for the cost. $179, will at this point be deducted from any potential refund.

Scubanautics Diving Academy cannot control the weather. We will offer to rebook for the next available vacancy at no extra charge but no refund will be offered due to the weather.

We have a cut-off point for all course booking numbers and have to allocate rental equipment and an instructor. Cancellations have a significant cost therefore the following will apply:

For cancellations more than 7 days out maximum refund is 50% of course value at the discretion of management.

Cancellations less than 7 days before commencement will not be refunded.

Transfer of course date will incur a $150 rebooking fee at the discretion of management.

Should you have a medical reason for not being able to commence the course and you advise us more than 7 days before your commence date we can reschedule your course or refund a proportion of course cost based on if any online training has already been completed the will need to be evaluated based on the course and at the discretion of management. (It’s recommended to organise a medical if required before starting any portion of the course or online training).

We cannot refund other parties with whom you may have signed up with because one party cannot complete the course.

We will not refund equipment purchased for the course as even if you do not complete the course.

Diving is a fun, exciting activity that the vast majority of people can learn under the supervision of our expert team. We want you to become a diver.

In the event for any reason, this is not possible we will consider an individual application for refunds outside of this policy at the management level, we ask that you consider that significant expense is incurred in managing all bookings.
